Greg Taylor, Principal
Greg Taylor, a native of Marshall, Michigan, graduated from Western Michigan University in 1987. During his time at WMU he interned at Phoenix Properties, LLC in Kalamazoo. After graduation Greg and his future wife, Lori, took employment in the Kalamazoo area and have remained in the community ever since. His past employment includes commercial and industrial real estate work with Kalamazoo based Kersten-Morris Real Estate & Leasing Company, corporate real estate work in four states for First of America Bank Corporation and National City Bank (now owned by PNC Bank).
After six and a half years with First of America, in 1998, Greg returned to the more entrepreneurial world of private real estate development, management, and leasing by re-joining Phoenix Properties. He became a partner in Phoenix Properties in 2000 and through a series of acquisitions and reorganizations gained sole ownership in December of 2013. Today, Greg is focused on expanding the Phoenix Properties portfolio for both third-party management and projects where he is a developer/owner.
In addition to his position at Phoenix Properties, Greg is a Certified Investment Member (CCIM) and has nearly completed his Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from IREM. Community activities include service on the board of The Friends of WMU PAC, current chairperson of the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) for the City of Kalamazoo, past board member for Lakeside Home for Boys & Girls (a non-profit housing project for troubled teens), and various other civic, volunteer, and service organization positions throughout the Kalamazoo area.
Greg has been a licensed real estate broker in the state of Michigan since 1990. He resides in Texas Township with his wife, Lori. They are the proud parents of two grown daughters.
Wendy Podd, Property Manager
Wendy Pond, a native of Morelia, Mexico, is a graduate of The Technological University of Morelia. She is fluent in both Spanish and English. Wendy joined Phoenix Properties in 2004 as a leasing agent in our luxury student housing portfolio.
In her 13 years with Phoenix, she has been a consistent top performer and through her quality work has expanded her skills and has taken on a leadership role for the firm on several important commercial and apartment projects. Wendy is very adept at client and tenant relations. She will be using her skills as an important leader for The Exchange mixed-use project.
Wendy has been a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of Michigan for many years. She resides in Texas Township with her husband Steve and their two children.
